This article introduces knowledge of the presence of feminine monastic presence in the Church between the 4th and 9th centuries. The Author uses the work of Fr. Adalbert de Vogüé osb, Histoire littéraire du mouvement monastique dans l’antiquitié, of which 14 volumes have been published by Cerf between 1991 and 2008. This article shows the activity, life schedules, and collaboration between the great spirits that have sustained the first Christian women’s monastic communities in total dedication to the Lord.

L’articolo introduce alla conoscenza della presenza monastica femminile nella Chiesa dal quarto al nono secolo. L’Autrice si avvale della Histoire littéraire du mouvement monastique dans l’antiquitié di Padre Adalbert de Vogüé osb, i cui dodici volumi sono pubblicati da Cerf tra il 1991 e il 2008. Il contributo illustra i moventi, il regime di vita, le collaborazioni con grandi spiriti che hanno sostenuto le prime monache cristiane nella totale dedizione al Signore.
